FACILITATOR TRAINING

Description:   It’s a FACT!  Meetings take up a HUGE portion of our time.  Sometimes they may seem to drag-on with little accomplished for the time committed.  But, have you sometimes been surprised at how efficient a meeting was conducted and how energized you felt afterwards?  Efficient and effective meetings don't have to be an accident!  By paying attention to what we call the Two-Fold Process of effective facilitation (ie. The Framework and The Dialogue), your meetings can actually be consistently positive and productive.  CDRC’s Effective Facilitation Training” draws deeply from our grounding in Transformative conflict theory, offering a lens on the interactional aspects of meetings and how the facilitator can promote the relational aspects of clarity, constructive engagement, and effective decision-making through the use of the Two-Fold Process.  This training is highly adaptable to specific needs / contexts.

Here are two recent examples:

“Facilitating Effective Participation in the Heated Public Meeting” ~ Created for elected and appointed officials, this interactive training introduces theoretical foundation from which to explore the role of the facilitator and the use of the “Two-fold Process” of framework and dialogue skills in the public meeting.
Length:           5 Hours
Audience:       Municipal Town Boards & City Councils, Planning & Zoning Boards, and School Boards

“Facilitating the Difficult Board of Director’s Meeting” ~ This training reviews key elements of an effective framework that both creates and holds the meeting space.  Also introduced are the Skills of Amplification that support effective and humane dialogue and interaction during board meetings.
Length:           3 Hours
